The history of Cape wines goes back centuries and therefore probably erroneously referred to as New World... The French Hugenots were largely responsible for imitating a few of the better elements of French wine making practice, in particular when creating a Burgundy style Chardonnay!

The Reserve range from Vergelegen showcases varietals from the premium vineyards on the estate. , This 100% chardonnay is sourced from the two Rooiland vineyards on the Estate. The soils contribute to this wine giving an attractive yet complex nose of citrus, white peach, pineapple, spice, citrus blossoms, apricot and buttered toast aromas. The taste is long and elegant with a lively minerality (my favourite word!)
