Peter Lunzer is the founder of Lunzer Wine and the wine expert, raconteur and host behind its signature experiences. With more than three decades in fine wine, investment and hospitality, he brings rare expertise, warmth and intelligence to every event. Known for his ability to turn wine into story, Peter makes every glass an experience to remember.

Born in Brighton and raised in Suffolk, he originally studied architecture before realising his true passion lay elsewhere - and a holiday job in wine became a lifelong career. Today, one of his most repeated lines still holds true: “I’m still fortunate to be in my holiday job.”

When he isn’t thinking about wine, Peter can usually be found cooking (and holding firm as King of the BBQ) or indulging his love of the arts - especially choral music and opera. A former rugby player, he remains a dedicated supporter of Richmond Rugby Club and still supplies the magnums that fuel the club’s post-match celebrations.

Sofia Lunzer is the creative force behind Lunzer Wine and Peter’s wife and business partner. Born in Sweden, raised in Cascais, and a London resident since 1997, she speaks four languages and carries a natural blend of Scandi cool with Latin fire.

With a background in international marketing, client relationships and strategic project leadership, Sofia brings creative direction, partnership development and a keen ability to see the bigger picture. She leads with intuition and heart, combining clarity, warmth and sharp strategic instincts.

Sofia believes deeply in reciprocity as the foundation for good business, and anyone who has worked with her will confirm her talent for collaboration, co-creation and creating environments where people feel seen and engaged. She also has an instinct for uncovering fresh perspectives and new ways of doing things - sometimes unconventional, always effective.

When she isn’t working, Sofia loves long walks with Raggie, time in the countryside, travelling, writing, exploring new places and happily disappearing into a book.

Chris Wood is a Partner at Lunzer Wine and leads operations with a combination of calm precision and warm, intuitive hospitality. With over 15 years across fine wine, luxury and logistics - and a background that blends UK roots with New Zealand sensibilities - he brings an unfaltering steadiness to every aspect of the experience.

He is known for balancing operational discipline with a down-to-earth manner that keeps events running seamlessly from cellar to table. Detail-minded without fuss, Chris ensures the moving parts remain invisible so guests can simply enjoy the moment. Whether hosting an intimate dinner, facilitating a board-level tasting or supporting large-scale corporate entertainment, he brings consistency, trust and a quietly competitive streak.

Outside work, Chris enjoys time with his three children, long walks with the dog, disappearing into the countryside, a round of golf and the occasional long lunch - ideally with a bottle worth talking about.

Ragnar “Raggie” is the loving office assistant. The black Labrador joined Lunzer wine and the family in October 2022 and is a valued addition to the team. Chief cuddler, in charge of getting the team out for exercise and a popular subject for illustrator David Gifford, Inscript Design.
