Ladoix Blanc 2020 Domaine Faveley (6x75cl)
Ladoix Blanc 2020 Domaine Faveley (6x75cl)
Faiveley have been making wines here for more than 180 years. The Domaine has always remained in the same family and today Erwan and Eve, the 7th generation of the Faiveley family, are at the helm and are keen to respect the traditions and savoir-faire of the family while looking to the future.
Ladoix-Serrigny is one of the Côte de Beaune’s oldest winemaking villages. The first Lords of Ladoix were present here as far back as the 13th century. Domaine Faiveley have owned this plot in Ladoix for many years, when it was initially planted with Pinot Noir and a small parcel of Chardonnay vines. Jerome and Erwan soon realised that the site was better suited to Chardonnay and replanted in 2007!
The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. Vinification then lasts for 4 weeks and takes place mainly in French oak barrels (>30% new oak)
The wine is aged in barrels for 12 months during which it is stirred regularly in order to keep the lees in contact with the wine. This results in excellent tension and aromatic complexity combined with a smooth and delicate palate.
