Tenuta San Guido is the legendary estate whose owner noted the similarity between Bolgheri’s terroir and that of the Graves in Bordeaux. In 1968, Sassicaia was commercially released and it took the fine wine world by storm, cementing its iconic status...

In 1994 Tenuta San Guido was granted its own appellation – Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC.

In Guidalberto 2020 there is a decent dollop of declassified Sassicaia but wherever the blend comes from, this blend in equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot, is a triumph of soothing complexity... We and the critics, love it!!

The 2020 Guidalberto is taut and tight with plenty of tart cherry and wild berry. The wine offers great freshness and tension with bay leaf, spice, wild cherry and pressed lavender buds. There is a hint of black olive too. The blend is equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.   92/100
