Château Talbot, Cru Classé, Saint Julien
In 1453, John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury lead the British armed forces into battle against France at Castillon (close to Bordeaux).
Unfortunately he lost not only the battle, but also his life and the gloom was compounded by the outcome which was that France took back control of Bordeaux from British hands, for the first time in 301 years...
Château Talbot ensures that the name lives on but while there is no current association with British nobility, this is a Château which is widely distributed in the UK... we feel that it is appreciated for good reason...
