It has become increasingly difficult to find value for money in a region where demand generally outstrips supply. We recently found this wine at a tasting and it stuck out as an exquisitely balanced, ripe and full flavoured Chardonnay but fortunately, not over oaked.

The Berthenet family have four centuries of history in the Montagny region, south of Beaune in Burgundy. Since 1991 they focused on perfecting their vines production and often sold to negotiants. Since 2002 they have produced Domaine bottled Chardonnays whose reputation are growing very positively.
