The Baumard family have been in the Loire making wines since 1634 and they are recognized for some of the most extraordinary dry white wines in the Loire and in France

Their Savennières, the Clos de Papillon, is grown on a particularly rare outcrop of Volcanic ash which produces some distinct flavours from 100% Chenin Blanc.

In 2003-2004 the estate decided to bottle everything under a medical grade screw cap which was both forward thinking and brave. The decision has been met by universal approval I believe…

Rarely seen in the UK since the locals keep most of the production for themselves, this is a rare treat!
