A region such as Alsace is held back we feel by the psychology of the bottle shape! Get past the tall green bottle and slightly Germanic style labelling and you may be amazed at the quality of what is in the bottle (it was part of Germany a few times after all)
For us, the Pinot Blanc is simply pleasing, no jagged edges and yet for such a balanced wine it is resilient to a very broad range of food styles.
