Once upon a time, this wine went under the name of ACTE 1, followed by ACTE 2 for the next harvest and so on.

It has been renamed to Les Perrieres and it looks quietly inoffensive. But talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing... The 2019 may not be completely typical but it shows the skill of master craftsmen without the price tag.

The Guinadeau Family is better known for their Château Lafleur, Pomerol which at a reassuring £1,400 per bottle is beyond the reach of many (!)

Back on planet earth, this wine outside the confines of Pomerol but with the team's love and attention, the Merlot is beginning to show its class - the price tag manageable even if a bit treaty....
